I wrote this poem for English and I read it at a poetry Jam at one of the K-8 schools, I hope some of the kids/teachers really listened to it...
Why?

I don't understand
why people hate
why people fight
why people kill
why there is war.
Most of all
why people distcrimante
and underestimate
why children are being thrown away
Without having anybody to say,
"I love you"
Why children suffer and just are
Why they are tied
To their cribs
Left to die
Why people treat others bad
Because of the way they look
Or life they've had
Why people it's okay to laugh
When they don't like to be laughed at.
Why hate grows and grows
Making once friends now foes.
What I do understand is
The love a family gives
the laughs that siblings share.
the way we don't care
what others think
The hope of a new arrival
a brother, summer
the joy of being together
even in this crazy weather.
I might not understand a lot,
But thats okay I live.

Temporary Home
I love this song, every single time I hear it, I cry. Guy's Earth is OUR Temporary Home, HEAVEN is where we'll be forever. But we have to make our Temporary home the best we can before we go to our forever life with God, so Let's love people like Jesus would, and lets save as many as we can. Donate. Pray. Love. Care. Thank the Lord for EVERYTHING you have, because there ARE people in this world with nothing, people who just want to know what love is. And want their crys to be heard, not shut behind a door, or locked away in an institution. So please! PLEASE! Help me in my movement to save as many people as we can. Who are you gonna be? (long and scattered)
"What do YOU want to be when you grow up?"
When asked this at 5 or 6 most kids respond with. "I want to be a doctor, an astronaut, a police officer or a firefighter" But those are the dreams of the past, what we thought we were gonna be.
Now when asked this question we have more realistic jobs picked out like I want to be a teacher, or a part-time nurse, or a photographer.
Today one of my very dear friends asked me this same question in which I responded to in a flash. This is what I told her, "I want to be a special needs preschool teacher specializing in down syndrome and Prader Willi, deafness and blindness. I also want to adopt. and be the best mom I can be. :)
And I want to help with local charitys and such, i want to sponsor people on reecesrainbow.com"
Thats exactly what I told her.
She responded with "You're so awesome :)
I want to be a social worker I think either dealing with little kids in bad situations and getting them out or with dealing with adoption. Placing kids with families and all of that kind of stuff. Giving kids to families that arent able to have their own."
I told her "You are way more amazing than me!"
She responded, "How So?"
And then I told her, "she just was"
She then went on and said "Well I think you are pretty amazing. You're so driven and mature and beautiful inside and out and have an awesome love for god and your family.....it's great to see!"
That made me really happy, you dont even know. :)
You may be wondering "Why in the world is she posting this?"
But it's for a reason... I want to challenge you to work towards your goals, to be what you want to be and not what this world wants you to be. I am going to work towards my goal. I have been since i could remember. I was taught to never give up, keep on perservering through the hard times, even though you just want to lay there curled up in a ball, crying. How is that going to change anything? How are we going to change this world we live in? How are we going to sit back and let these things in this world happen? Truth is, we can't, we can't just sit here and watch and read about children dying, or not being able to go home with there families. Can we do something? Yes, we can. We can donate, give up your morning coffee or weekly trip to the fast food place. If we can't donate there's nothing more powerful then praying to the most high, God!
I mean really people, did we forget who gave us America? Did we forget who loved us before? Did we loose the very faith and trust he planted in us? I know it's hard to stick by God, but, by all means, we have to! If we don't then we will never see the joy and happiness he has planned for us. Maybe you are supposed to adopt NOW, or maybe you are supposed to wait. But if God has told you something you are to act now! "Don't wait for the 'perfect' moment live in the NOW!" Thats what a very smart youth pastor once told me.
This Spring Break really got me thinking, why was I hiding? Hiding who I really was, from the people at school. This is a matter of eternal life with Jesus in heaven, or death in hell. My friends, the very people who I adore and trust, Don't know Him or maybe they do, whether or not I'm supposed to start the fire, or fan the flames, I am where I am right now to DO SOMETHING! Not be hooked on for the 'Joy ride' not sit back and watch the people I say I love perish, if I don't tell them, maybe they'll never know, maybe they WILL perish.
Same as these orphans.... They WILL perish if not given a voice, if not shown to this world.
But your mind fills with 'what-ifs'. What if he isnt accepted? What if we dont have the finances? What if we can't do it? What if? What if? What if? What if? I'm SICK of it! I know I'm not perfect, I know that I have what-if moments, but This Spring break i realized, I kinda went back to my roots, i got away from this horrid world filled with, Hate, Self-doubt, Selfishness. Anyways this post got really long and scattered I'm sorry but I just had a bunch of feelings i had to get out.
I hope that some how some one reads this and actually picks something up from it. :)

Discrimination.
Discrimination.
treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit: racial and religious intolerance and discrimination.
People don't realize it, but most people discriminate against my little brother and the others blessed to be like him. Yes, I used the word blessed! While you guys use the words 'retard or retarted' as slang for STUPID or DUMB but these little blessings are not.
I know some people think I'm crazy, or overreacting. But while you sit there and you use these words or crack 'wise' jokes about some one, or referring to a movie as retarded, it is painful. It's like you are taking steak knives and stabbing them into my ears, like sharp cold ice in my stomach. You might not understand, but many people do, to name a few there's Taylah, Ashley, Patti, Adeye , Heather,and many others, so many that it would be an entire post.
I encounter people who use the r-word every day at school, oh you don't know how much I want to take them all aside and tell them the pain they cause daily, to ME!
Like my friend once told me, "You can be in a crowd and the one thing that you hear, is that word."
I totally agree, I walk through the halls and I hear it all around me....
Here is something I personally don't understand. (I don't do this) Why is it that when you say, "Oh because he's Mexican.." Or when you use a homophobic remark such as, "That's sooo Gay!" You get yelled at by fifty different people, but when some one says "Oh that's so (I hate this word) retarded, or you're a retard..." Nothing usually happens the day pass by and the person just continues to use the r-word every single sentence she uses.
Well, folks that's why we're here to educate people, to let the world know! TO SPREAD THE WORD to end the WORD!
This mean boy once told a girl I know, "At least I don't have a disability!" She acted like it was nothing, shook it off, because she must get that alot, but when I looked at her I saw hurt, pain, longing. I can tell she wants to be like everyone else, she wants to be able to learn. She is Autistic. She is a Junior in High School. She is HUMAN. And quite frankly, She deserves to be treated like one! Not like something you scraped off the bottom of your shoe!
Today on the bathroom stall in my locker room, I read, "They are not 'others'. They are US." it was etched into the wall for everyone to see. This little phrase meant something to some one, whether or not its about the same thing, it means something. And for me it means. People who are 'different' are the same as us.
I will end this long but MEANINGFUL post on that.
And the fact that a wise elephant once said, "A person's a person no matter how small!"

Constance.
My mom met this sweet angel back in November while on her first trip to see Josiah.
I instantly fell in love with this precious, once I saw her picture.
See this sweet face? My parents recieved the news when they went on their second trip for court for my little brother, that sweet, princess Constance, WILL be transferred to the institution in APRIL!!
Yes, I said April, 3 short weeks, the same time my brother will be coming home, this Angel WILL be transferred. Do you understand what that means? She will spend endless nights and days in a crib. ALONE
Can you see that happening to this sweet Lovie? She NEEDS a Mommy and Daddy! PLEASE IF YOU HAVE A FACEBOOK POST HER PICTURE ON YOUR WALL, POST IT ON YOUR BLOG! LETS GET THE WORD AROUND! LET'S SAVE THIS SUNSHINE!!!!!! We have 3 WEEKS!

NEW PICTURE OF KALEB!!!
Look Look!!!!! KALEB GOT A NEW PICTURE!!!!!! And new info! Kaleb is on a gluten free diet for symptoms of Celiac disease.
Kaleb is delayed in all aspects of his development. He is walking and loves to swing. He plays with toys and will follow simple directions and preform tasks with prompts. He enjoys the attention of the staff and interacts with them appropriately. He has recently begun initiating play with other children. He needs assistance with self-help skills. He pronounces sounds and babbles, but is not yet talking.

If you can't adopt, at least donate to his fund as a birthday gift!

Another year?!
What do you think he's doing right now, the day before he turns 3? The day before its marks three years alone, with out anybody to love him? The day that seems like just another to a million people. I wonder what his birth mommy feels like, what his family feels like. Do they remember how beautiful this child is? Do they still love him?
Well, If he's your little boy, please, PLEASE step out now, before it's to late! I don't want him to go another year alone. Do you?
Please some one, his mommy and daddy, his family, Please, look at that sweet face, those tiny folded hands those eyes, I can't get enough of those eyes!
If I was old enough, I would bring home this angel! But I'm not, so it's my job to make sure a family comes for him, pray for him, and be his voice here in America!

Monkey Boy, Emory.
Emory stole my heart ever since I laid eyes on him last April. He is so precious! Just look at him!
Does he look like he could be your's? Don't you just want to love him? I love him! He is so sweet look at those little fingers and eyes! His eyes say "Mommy, Daddy, please, please come save me before it's to late! please mommy! Please Daddy!!! I need your love, I need a home, I can't waste away here any more!" Those little eye's deserve to see more than the four walls of the orphanage he is in. He deserves to hear more than the same voices and crys that he hears everyday! He deserves LIFE! HE deserves a happy life! Full of JESUS and SUNSHINE!!! He NEEDS his mommy and daddy by his side! Maybe a few siblings too! He will turn 3 on the 25th of this month. Can some body, please, find him as your's so he has a birthday worth celebrating next year, so he won't be sent away to the terrible institution! I love all these kids with all my heart, because we are supposed to "Love them like Jesus, carry them to him..." (my new favorite song.) :)

Emory is new to this orphanage, and can be adopted with Lydiah or Evan. He was born with anal atresia, but has already had one corrective surgery. He currently has a tube in, and will require additional surgeries. He does NOT have a heart condition. Developmentally he is doing very well. He is happy and affectionate and in need of a loving family!

Emory (10) Boy, Born February 25, 2008
Emory is still young enough to benefit from early intervention therapy! Please give him a chance!
From one of our adoptive families who visited with him in May 2010: “ Emory had just returned from Kiev, where he had another corrective surgery. They built him a lower intestine and a rectum. He is very frail and in desperate need of a family. The director told me that he almost didn’t make it through surgery and that the Dr’s were surprised by his will to live. The director wants very much to find him a family and made a point to walk us down to where he was so we could get his pic. She also showed us his corrective surgery….which caught me off guard, but she was so pleased funds were available to help this little guy! His rebuilt rectum is at the site of where is colostomy bag was…on his lower left abdomen. He wore 2 diapers, one that went horizontal around the site and then a typical diaper. ”
We are so glad to have new photos of Emory, and I am personally touched by the way he clasps his hands, as if he is just praying for his family to come for him.

My sweet, honey, Christopher, has been lucky enough to have a mommy and daddy find him! So now, I have been chosen to be sweet, Kaleb's warrior.

Don’t mind the pink outfit and the long hair. This is a BOY, and a healthy one! This photo is old, he is already 7 years old, but is doing well and needs a family!
Please, this little precious, NEEDS a mommy and daddy to love him, to tuck him in at night, to hold him when he's sad. Yes he's older, but that just makes it all the more fun. If God has laid it on your heart to adopt this precious, please step out in faith, and trust, now, before its to late, and he is sent away to an institiution.

HE HAS A FAMILY!!!!
Oh my goodness!
I was at school and at about 2 o'clock i got a text message from my sister, saying "CHRISTOPHER AND MASHA HAVE FAMILIES!!"
Of course I was excited!!! My baby Christopher will have a mommy and daddy, and maybe brothers and sisters!! YES!
Last night before i went to bed, i did as i normally do and laid there and prayed, I prayed that TODAY would be the day Christopher's family found him! Guess what, IT WAS!!
Oh my word! I am so THRILLED!!!
Can't wait to find out who this little honey's mommy and daddy are!!!

Some People....
Okay, I know people are entitled to their own opinion but, to me, this lady was outrageous!
Okay let me tell you what happened, So my mom, my sister Madison, and I went to the doll show to sell some of my mom's collection to raise money to bring Josiah home. (which is really close to happening!). It was a little bit later in the day after lunch, mom and Madison got up to walk around to look at the other booths. A few people just walked by with out saying a thing, but this older couple stopped to look at the dolls.
The man said "You look bored."
I responded, "I am. I just want to sell something to bring my little brother home from EE, Here's a flyer, if you want to read it."
Then his wife says in the RUDEST tone, sort of like I was a little kid who didnt know anything, "I THINK KIDS SHOULD JUST STAY WHERE THEY'RE BORN!"
So, they just walked off to the next booth while I stand there absolutley SHOCKED at what this lady just said to me. I was getting so mad, it really bothered me, A LOT.
I texted my friend and told her what had just happened and she replied, "That's AWFUL!"
"I know, its like would you rather them die, alone, in an institution, in Ukraine or Russia or where ever they are from then have them have a FAMILY and LIVE in AMERICA!"
Of course as soon as my mom got back I told her, she was shocked too, and especially shocked that I didnt say anything back to the lady. Since I'm the kind of person that would, but I was in such shock that I couldn't even remember what had gone on before that!
People like that can't see the blessing of ADOPTION! The blessing of bringing a child into your family, who has NO ONE, raising and loving them, and helping them get through life LOVED! The blessing of a special needs child is AMAZING! And because of this lady, and this post, I hope you decide, in your heart that adoption is an AMAZING gift, blessing From GOD! I hope you consider adopting Little Christopher or some one else on Reece's Rainbow . There are so many little blessings that need a mommy and a daddy to love them! Please help save the life of a child!

So, they just walked off to the next booth while I stand there absolutley SHOCKED at what this lady just said to me. I was getting so mad, it really bothered me, A LOT.
I texted my friend and told her what had just happened and she replied, "That's AWFUL!"
"I know, its like would you rather them die, alone, in an institution, in Ukraine or Russia or where ever they are from then have them have a FAMILY and LIVE in AMERICA!"
Of course as soon as my mom got back I told her, she was shocked too, and especially shocked that I didnt say anything back to the lady. Since I'm the kind of person that would, but I was in such shock that I couldn't even remember what had gone on before that!
People like that can't see the blessing of ADOPTION! The blessing of bringing a child into your family, who has NO ONE, raising and loving them, and helping them get through life LOVED! The blessing of a special needs child is AMAZING! And because of this lady, and this post, I hope you decide, in your heart that adoption is an AMAZING gift, blessing From GOD! I hope you consider adopting Little Christopher or some one else on Reece's Rainbow . There are so many little blessings that need a mommy and a daddy to love them! Please help save the life of a child!

You Wouldn't....
I wrote this one night when I got home from school and I was tired of people making fun of a kid in my class.
You wouldn't step on a daisy, just because it's missing a petal.
You wouldn't throw out perfect piece of paper.
You wouldn't take back a damaged book.
You wouldn't give away your sick pet.
So, how come people think it's okay to treat people differently just because they're "different", "broken", "damaged", or "sick". Just because they aren't like us, doesn't mean they don't feel love, hate, happiness, sadness and all the other feelings. Just because they aren't "normal" doesn't mean that they don't have the capacity to learn, yes it takes longer, but they'll still learn the same as you. So how about we stop stepping on their self-esteem? Why not help them? Talk to them? Love them for who they are and not what this world has labeled them as? They ARE people. They have feelings and they have sadness, when you mock them. So, the next time you think about making a mean, hurtful comment or remark about my brother and others like him, hold your tongue, imagine being in their shoes. "Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you."
Because I say, my Pumpkin boy is PERFECT! And I bet I can get alot more people to agree with me.
Down Syndrome is a TRUE blessing!

Constance Needs a Family too.
Hey guys, Constance is a very sweet 4 year old girl. My mom met her, she crawled up into my moms lap and sat there for the longest time, my mom says she is really sweet. My mom is her prayer warrior.

Constance (2H)
Girl, Born October 2006
Little Constance is already 4 and facing the institution. One of our own adoptive families was blessed to have met her during their own adoption visit, so we have multiple photos of her and hope we can find a family for her!
From her medical records: Down Syndrome, congenital heart disease, moderate mental deficiency. She does not have siblings. Constance seems to be social, observing and affectionate little girl.
From our adoptive family who visited with her in November 2010: " Constance was a sweet girl, she came up to me, sat next to me on the floor, and got closer and closer until she was in my lap. She sat in my lap so sweetly holding my hand for a long time. She is a small girl… before I knew her age I thought she was two years old. She played well in her groupa…. the caregivers(nannies) for this groupa are wonderful, they love the children, teach the children, and take good care of them. She is in a loving environment now but will be transferred soon. It breaks my heart, I wish I could go back and get her. She is too sweet for words."
